The Nature of Things
Air America Today shouts Fifty-Nine!
It seems to imply that Democrats are off the hook. The moderate/independent middle seems to say that they want checks-and-balances which in turn should turn progressives loose now that there is a potential filibuster. Some have accused this middle of being low-information voters, but others claim them to be those that want the change they were promised or in the case of Massachusetts, those that have their health care and worry about the cost, not to mention jobs being a priority. This is my preemptive take from the heading, not the article.
Also the word Revolution has been bandied about. A caller suggested that the Reagan "Revolution" should have been a called a Counter Revolution. I would suggest it would be appropriately called a Devolution but unfortunately Revolution implies a spin that will continue unless there is real change. Now to switch a flat tire to a flat earth, there is a slippery slope because there is trickle down. That means that progress will always be slippery and up hill, or those that rise will only be on* the backs of others. [Correction: they do need the backs of others but they can't rise by flattening them.]
*scratch "on the backs of others": replace with "the burden of others."
[See "nature of things"]
[Extended metaphor: The ping pong ball is flat!(maybe it always has been, or it is more than about games and parties.)]
[BTW: a conference table can be round but it is still flat]

Vast Mainstream Conspiracy (VMC)
= HYPE!
I was actually[***] on the way to another link when the imperfect nature of things took a tangent to the Montel Williams comment above (HYPE!).
Hype* was already[**] on my mind, as the nature of the beast. Media in general not The Daily Ones.
* see bracketed by Remembering posts
** see comment 1 Also see bold roots(links/cheer)
*** [Subliminal Root or Cheer and/or (ofor) Market Forces in balance and action?]

We Got Ed
Nor Man Gold Man
Rachell Mad*dow
Keith Olbermann
Thom Hartmann
Ron Reagan
Not the least of the lesser lights,**
but in particular order,
Pardon me not the least, Chris Matthews.
Links to be added later, might be. Or maybe.
[Locker Room Snap, Within Limits, Rather Miffication, or Retrogressing in reserve.]
** 12-31-09 upper links and asterisk added: an awkward way of saying I was probably forgetting some
* 1-2-10 slipped in 2nd link and worse (excuse the asteriskal anachronism: not/anachronistic )

FOX in Sheeps Clothing.
Actually sheep in shepherd's clothing.
Or The Sound and the Fury.[*]
Or is it fuzzy? I know that there are segments of news at FAUX News for a few seconds at a time, but the fury above does not hold to their motto:
"No Pundits, no discussion- just the news."
I am not sure if it is really from THE FOX REPORT, but it should be called JUST THE OPPOSITE (of the motto).
Speaking of "the speed of live", (the rest of the FAUX motto), I would love to see Bill Maher's humor live, as it has more news content. (Or Retro Laugh there.)
[Only in the light of wrong, is Shepard anywhere near right, but he is nowhere near left of wrong. "O, most lame and impotent news. Shak. (misQ "conclusion")]
[Speaking of sound... not the fuzzy.]
*[My original feeling of disgust has moderated toward admiring his "slippery slop" of (sic) journalism.(See comments for punctuation notes)]
[UPDATE: 8-13-09 Whine Country and smokin' rhetoric.**]
[** the latter is busted news.]
[Howard Dean and Charlie McCarthyism (not to mention.)]

Hang down your head Paul Krugman!
On Meet the Press Jonathan Mann is the bright spot and I do not mean to dis Paul Krugman but the idea that they were talking about owning the economy is my point.
Obama will not own the economy unless...
Oh, heck I fell in the trap.
But hang down your heads, Will and Dowd.
But the time horizon is a factor. It took almost 8 years for the economy to be the issue. It has been over 25 that Reaganomics has been the problem, not to mention, over twice that since FDR and Charlie McCarthyism *have been in the background.
(OH and I will not link Charlie Wilson and another Joe)
BUT THEY ARE THE SHADOWS!
Will is proctor hoc post [*] or we have the Charlie/Joe fallacy.
Re:links Owning the Shadows
and more?
* Socionomics of hope? And the vicious cycle.
[The reference in the title goes no deeper than the reference to a song.(period) (note)...(not) that it is a song of the century but it may be about our economic and cultural heritage...] [or the potential of a carbon based world in a dollar debased economy or justice period.]
[How can you not smile **and be curious Mann?
** Thanks to Jon Stewart and Yes We Can!
[the bottom line? the Greenspan put may need a flip-flop to the Krugman take or is it really about our take>]
[And I thought that would be the last spin but who needs a hair cut and who will*** be the barber?]
*** need segment link to bailout discussion
[*] 8-13-09 link adjusted to correct spelling but still a missing Charly
